Tera Mera Rishta By Pritam & Saaj Bhatt

A familiar heartbreak anthem just found new life. The new version of “Tera Mera Rishta,” built around Pritam’s music and voiced this time by Saaj Bhatt alongside Subodhh Sharma, is climbing streaming charts as part of the Awarapan 2 soundtrack, and fans of the original are showing up in numbers.

Pritam needs no introduction to anyone who follows Bollywood music. He has spent two decades shaping the sound of Hindi film soundtracks, moving fluidly between soulful ballads and high energy anthems. Saaj Bhatt, meanwhile, has built a name for delivering emotionally direct vocal performances on tracks like “Pakki Wali Dosti” and “Deewana,” and that same rawness carries into this reimagined version.

The track leans into the emotional rock ballad territory that made the original “Tera Mera Rishta” a fan favorite back in 2007. This new rendition, produced with Mithoon also contributing to the composition, keeps the mournful core of the melody intact while giving it a fuller, more layered production. Saaj Bhatt’s vocals sit at the front of the mix, carrying the weight of longing and regret, while the arrangement builds gradually from a stripped down opening into a fuller rock driven chorus.

Much of the song’s current momentum comes from its placement in Awarapan 2, the sequel to the beloved 2007 film, starring Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani. Reviving a track this closely tied to the emotional identity of the original movie was always going to draw attention, and the strategy has paid off, with the new version already racking up millions of streams within weeks of release. For longtime fans, hearing this melody return in a new voice taps directly into nostalgia, while newer listeners are discovering it as a standalone heartbreak ballad.

This is a rare case of a musical revival that earns its place rather than coasting on nostalgia alone. Saaj Bhatt’s vocal performance carries genuine vulnerability without overreaching, Pritam and Mithoon’s production gives the melody room to breathe before letting the rock instrumentation take over, and the pacing of the build shows real craftsmanship. It is a ballad that respects where it came from while standing confidently on its own.

“Tera Mera Rishta” is an exciting track with captivating energy, impressive delivery, and a memorable sound. Make sure you listen to this impressive song and add it to your playlist today.
