Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has once again earned public praise for her generosity, this time reaching out to fellow actress Omotunde Ogundimu, who has been battling cervical cancer since her diagnosis in 2024.

Ogundimu revealed on Instagram that Funke Akindele called her unexpectedly on the morning of September 10, 2026, prayed with her, and then sent a substantial amount of money toward her ongoing treatment. The gesture came shortly after Ogundimu had opened up publicly about the pain and financial strain of her illness during an emotional conversation with colleague Biola Adebayo.

An overwhelmed Ogundimu thanked Akindele publicly, describing her as a blessing and asking her followers to join her in prayer for the actress. The donation adds to a growing pattern of Nollywood stars rallying around colleagues facing serious health battles, following similar fundraising efforts for actors Ikechukwu Nweke and Cynthia Anijekwu earlier in the year.
