Barbaad By Jubin Nautiyal

Jubin Nautiyal’s “Barbaad,” from the runaway hit film Saiyaara, continues to dominate playlists well over a year after its original release, proving that some heartbreak songs simply refuse to fade. Composed by The Rish, the track has quietly become one of the most streamed romantic numbers to come out of Hindi cinema in recent memory.

Jubin Nautiyal has built his career on exactly this kind of song, big, aching vocal performances that lean into vulnerability rather than restraint. His voice has become synonymous with modern Bollywood heartbreak anthems, and “Barbaad” plays directly to that strength, giving him room to stretch out emotionally over nearly six minutes.

The track builds gradually, opening on a hushed, almost fragile vocal before swelling into a full bodied chorus carried by sweeping strings and a steady rhythmic pulse. Jubin’s delivery is unguarded throughout, riding the emotional peaks without ever tipping into excess, which is part of why the song has aged so well.

“Barbaad” sits alongside the title track “Saiyaara,” composed separately by Tanishk Bagchi’s team and sung by Faheem Abdullah, as one of two anchor songs from the film’s soundtrack. Saiyaara’s massive theatrical success introduced both songs to a wide audience, and “Barbaad” in particular has held on through steady word of mouth, reels, and repeat streaming rather than a single viral spike.

Jubin Nautiyal delivers one of his most complete vocal performances in years here, patient in the verses and fully committed by the final chorus. The Rish’s production gives the song room to breathe, and the payoff feels earned rather than manufactured.

“Barbaad” is an exciting track with captivating energy, impressive delivery, and a memorable sound. Make sure you listen to this impressive song and add it to your playlist today.
