Yar Arewa By Hamisu Breaker

Hamisu Breaker’s “Yar Arewa” is a Hausa-language celebration of the Northern girl, and it remains one of the songs people point to when they talk about his early run. The single came out on March 24, 2021, lasts just over four minutes, and has an official music video. Anyone searching for the Hamisu Breaker “Yar Arewa” song will find a track built on pride, affection, and regional identity.

Born Hamisu Sa’id Yusuf in Kano State, Hamisu Breaker picked up his stage name from his breakdancing days before turning to music. “Jaruma” lifted him to national attention in 2020, and “Yar Arewa” followed within a year, helping him hold that momentum. He sings in Hausa, writes his own material, and has built his name on songs about love and life in Northern Nigeria. This record fits right into that body of work.

The title translates to “Northern Girl,” and the song is a tribute to her. Hamisu Breaker is credited as the writer and composer, so the praise comes straight from the artist himself. Descriptions of the single point to vibrant energy, and at over four minutes it gives him more space than his typical love singles to settle into the theme and let the admiration build. The Hausa delivery keeps the song rooted in the culture it celebrates.

I could not find a verified viral moment behind its current attention, so the clearest reason it keeps getting played is its subject. A song that honors a region and its women gives listeners something to be proud of and share, and that kind of connection lasts well beyond a release window. Fans can stream the track on official platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, and Amazon Music, and watch the video on Apple Music.

“Yar Arewa” shows Hamisu Breaker at his most proud and expressive. The performance is lively, the tribute feels genuine, and his Hausa phrasing carries the whole record with confidence. It is a strong example of how local identity can power a song that still sounds fresh years later.

“Yar Arewa” is an exciting track with captivating energy, impressive delivery, and a memorable sound. Make sure you listen to this impressive song and add it to your playlist today.
