Lapson By Hamisu Breaker

Hamisu Breaker’s “Lapson” is one of the shortest tracks in his catalog, running only 1 minute and 17 seconds. It appears as the second track on Iconic Sounds of Africa, Vol. 67, a 2018 compilation released through Blue Pie Publishing USA, and a YouTube audio upload carries an April 2018 date as well. For anyone searching for the Hamisu Breaker “Lapson” song, the brief running time is the first thing that stands out.

Born Hamisu Sa’id Yusuf in Dorayi, Kano State, Hamisu Breaker started as a breakdancer before turning to music. He released songs independently for years and then rose nationally with “Jaruma” in 2020. He sings in Hausa about love, longing, and everyday life in Northern Nigeria. “Lapson” comes from his early period, long before that breakthrough, when his recordings were gathered into compilation releases like this one.

The song is sung by Hamisu Breaker in the context of a 10-track album that one catalog description praises for its varied instrumental textures. I could not verify details about the track’s lyrics, theme, tempo, or production, and its short length means it may play very differently from his full-length singles, so I will not describe it further. It is best understood as a small piece of the larger early catalog rather than a standalone hit.

I found no verified viral moment behind current attention, so the clearest explanation is catalog discovery. As Hamisu Breaker’s audience has grown, fans have gone back through his older releases, including tracks from the Iconic Sounds of Africa series. Quick tracks like this are easy to play in full, which makes them a simple entry point for new listeners. You can find it through official platforms such as Deezer and YouTube.

“Lapson” is a brief but worthwhile glimpse into Hamisu Breaker’s early work. His Hausa delivery already carries the sincerity that later defined his biggest records, and the short runtime makes it an easy listen for anyone curious about where his sound began. It is a small piece of a bigger story, and a good reminder of how far he has come.

“Lapson” is an exciting track with captivating energy, impressive delivery, and a memorable sound. Make sure you listen to this impressive song and add it to your playlist today.
