Lokaci By Hamisu Breaker

Hamisu Breaker’s “Lokaci” is an early Hausa single that deals with love fading as time passes. Streaming listings date it to April 5, 2018, as part of the compilation Iconic Sounds of Africa, Vol. 67, and it runs 5 minutes and 15 seconds. The title means “time,” and for anyone searching for the Hamisu Breaker “Lokaci” song, the length and the theme make it one of the more reflective entries from his early catalog.

Born Hamisu Sa’id Yusuf in Dorayi, Kano State, Hamisu Breaker started as a breakdancer before moving into music. He released songs independently for years, then gained national attention with “Jaruma” in 2020. He sings in Hausa about love, longing, and everyday life in Northern Nigeria, and his writing is often noted for its frankness. “Lokaci” comes from the years when that voice was taking shape.

The song is about change in a relationship. From the available lyric text, the singer realizes that time has altered things between him and his partner, that earlier promises have not held, and that love has turned into something painful. Hamisu Breaker is credited as composer and writer, and the track is sung in Hausa. At more than five minutes, it gives the story space to unfold. I could not verify details about tempo, instrumentation, or production, so I will not describe them.

I found no verified viral moment behind current attention, so the clearest explanation is relatability. A song about realizing that a relationship has changed speaks to listeners at any stage, and as Hamisu Breaker’s audience has grown, fans have gone back to his earlier releases. The song has also appeared on more than one release, including the later compilation African Gold, which has helped it stay in circulation. You can stream it on official platforms such as Apple Music, Deezer, and YouTube.

AFROBEATS says: “Lokaci” shows how early Hamisu Breaker understood the emotional weight of a simple idea. His Hausa delivery is sincere, the writing stays focused on a single painful realization, and the long runtime lets that feeling settle in. It is a thoughtful, honest piece of songwriting that rewards anyone willing to listen closely.

“Lokaci” is an exciting track with captivating energy, impressive delivery, and a memorable sound. Make sure you listen to this impressive song and add it to your playlist today.
