Akwa Ego By Benzy_wgt Ft. DennyB

Benzy_wgt’s “Akwa Ego,” featuring DennyB, continues to show up across Nigerian music platforms, holding onto attention well after its original release. The song has had something of a layered rollout, appearing as a standalone single before later being folded into Benzy_wgt’s project Dreams in Motion.

That staggered release history is part of what keeps the song circulating. A track that gets a second life inside a larger project tends to reach listeners who missed it the first time, and “Akwa Ego” has had exactly that kind of extended runway since it first appeared.

Benzy_wgt works within Nigerian Hip-Hop and Afrobeats, building a catalog that favors sharp, rhythmic delivery over slower, more melodic material. His other singles, including “Ego Bu Mmiri” and “Cheddar,” point to an artist who returns often to money and ambition as recurring themes, and “Akwa Ego” fits right into that pattern. DennyB joins him here as a featured collaborator, adding a second voice to round out the record.

The song runs a tight two and a half minutes, keeping its energy compact and direct rather than stretching out. Benzy_wgt’s verses carry a confident, rhythmic flow typical of his style, while DennyB’s feature adds contrast and texture on top. The production, handled by Dukah, leans into a modern Afrobeats-meets-hip-hop sound that gives the track its momentum.

There is no confirmed viral clip or chart milestone tied to the song’s current attention. Its staying power seems to come from its placement inside Dreams in Motion, which has kept it in rotation alongside Benzy_wgt’s other tracks and given listeners repeated chances to discover it, even well past its original release date.

“Akwa Ego” is an exciting track with captivating energy, impressive delivery, and a memorable sound. Make sure you listen to this impressive song and add it to your playlist today.
